Vanessa Furse Jackson

vanessa-jacksonVANESSA FURSE JACKSON is the author of The Revolving Year and its prequel, The Anthropologist’s Daughter, for Barking Rain Press. Jackson comes from a family with deep roots in Devonshire. However, married to Robb Jackson, an Ohio native, she lived in the United States for almost thirty years, the majority of them spent teaching literature and writing at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

A book about her great-grandfather, The Poetry of Henry Newbolt: Patriotism Is Not Enough, as well as the short story collections What I Cannot Say to You  and Small Displacements, which won the PEN Texas 2011 Southwest Award for Fiction. Vanessa has also co-authored a book of poems with her husband, Robb Jackson, entitled Crane Creek, Two Voices.

Vanessa returned to England in January 2014, following Robb’s unexpected death.  She now lives just outside Winchester in Hampshire, where she is currently completing a third collection of stories. For more information, please visit Vanessa’s website.
