Tace Baker

Tace Baker is the author of the Lauren Rousseau Mysteries for Barking Rain Press. The first book in the series, Speaking of Murder, is available for purchase; the second book in the series, Bluffing is Murder, will be available in November 2014. Tace Baker is a pseudonym for Edith Maxwell. Tace is an old-fashioned female Quaker name, fitting for the author of a series featuring a Quaker linguistics professor. Edith is a member of Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime, and serves on the board of SINC New England. She is also a member of the  Society of Friends (Quaker), as is the protagonist of Speaking of Murder, Lauren Rousseau. Edith writes the Local Foods Mysteries featuring organic farmer Cam Flaherty and the local Locavore Club. The first book in the series is A Tine to Live, a Tine to Die; the second book in the series is ‘Til Dirt Do Us Part. She also writes award-winning short crime fiction. She is a fourth-generation Californian with a PhD in linguistics, a black belt in karate, and several prior careers as a farmer, a childbirth educator, and a technical writer. She has two grown sons and lives north of Boston with her beau, three cats, and a small organic garden. She blogs every weekday with the Wicked Cozy Authors (wickedcozyauthors.com).
